Our Story

Private Lands Wildlife is a family-driven wildlife habitat conservation initiative based in St. Louis, Michigan — right in the heart of the Pine River watershed.

We believe that private landowners have both the opportunity and responsibility to be stewards of the wildlife on their land.

Our work began in 2019 when we purchased 30 acres of neglected farmland in Gratiot County and discovered something extraordinary — not just overgrown habitat in desperate need of restoration, but a connection to Michigan's conservation history that would shape our mission forever.

Through hands-on habitat management, invasive species removal, and sustainable land stewardship, we demonstrate that individual landowners can make a meaningful difference in Michigan wildlife conservation.

Through our 30-acre property in the Pine River area, we conduct active habitat restoration — and the results speak for themselves.

Hands-On Conservation

Species that had abandoned this land are returning. We follow principles outlined by the Quality Deer Management Association and share what we learn to help other landowners.
